Porcelain
Dollmaking Dallas 2004 This years results were a little different, I did receive a blue ribbon and a champion rosette for my reproduction of Portrait of Jeanie, a Jumeau doll. Here are some pictures of her: With all the doll collecting going on, I found my way to a porcelain doll-making seminar in Tyler, Texas. There I became hooked on the hobby and have tried to become a better doll-maker over the years by attending classes and seminars. I have a master through DAG and am trying to earn the grandmaster title this September in Dallas. Will keep you posted on the outcome. Update - I received a red ribbon for my Mein Liebling doll which did not qualify for the Grand Master Dollmaker, you have to earn a blue ribbon. Here is a picture of her : ![]() This is a picture of Ruth that I made in a seminar with Stephanie Ehmen at Abigail's Doll Academy in Houston, Texas. Ruth has some characteristics of Bogey and during that seminar while working on Ruth I was reminded many times of Bogey. Ruth has sleep eyes, open mouth with teeth and tongue, and she has a full composition body. Here is a picture of the A - Marque doll that I just completed at a seminar with Heather Levy This is Charmer that I received a Blue Ribbon and Best of Category for at the Mesquite Doll Show in 2001 This is Claire that I entered in a competition at Deb Festervand's Doll of Your Dreams Show in Vivian, La. 2002, and I received a Blue Ribbon and Best of Category
Here are some of the first dolls that I made - Century and Dream Baby Here is the very first Mein Liebling that I made, in comparing this one to the one I entered in the Dallas competition, I have really improved even though I don't have a lot of time to devote to this hobby - I have too many other hobbies and interests. And the cutest doll of all, Christopher Andrew Scott!!!
